-Ski
The Juracîmes apartments are ideally located for winter sports in the Jura.
On site, you can enjoy the family-friendly Mijoux Col de la Faucille ski area, which is perfect for learning to ski. The ski area is accessible on foot and you will have access to a ski locker.
If you want to ski in larger resorts, you can use the same ski pass to ski in the Crozet-Lelex resort, 20 minutes away by car.
You can also reach the Les Rousses and La Dôle resorts in 20 minutes by car.
For Nordic skiing
If you enjoy cross-country skiing or skating, you will have access to the largest French ski areas, less than 5 minutes away by car. The closest is the Vattay Nordic ski area, located on a plateau at an altitude of 1,200 meters, offering magnificent views of the Jura and the Alps. You can also reach the Les Rousses Nordic ski area.
-Col de la faucille et Mijoux
With direct access from the apartments, you can take part in activities offered by Monts Jura Tyrolienne, including downhill skiing, year-round sledding, and Nordic skiing at La Vattay, one of France's largest cross-country skiing and skating areas.
In the Valserine Valley, you can take part in activities such as dog sledding with QimmiQ Aventure or family sleigh rides pulled by draft horses with Nicolas, who will tell you all about life in the Mijoux Valley in days gone by.
In case of bad weather, you can visit the Trabbia Vuillermoz jewelry stone museum, where you will learn about the history of lapidaries in the Haut-Jura.
-Dans le Jura
In winter, when conditions allow, why not head to the frozen lakes to go ice skating or enjoy the scenery at Lac des Rousses or Lac de Lamoura? Or you can go skating at the ice rink and visit the magnificent Polar Worlds Space Museum in Prémanon.
For lovers of fine food and good cheese, we recommend a visit to Fort des Rousses, which has been converted into a giant Comté cheese maturing cellar. With 230,000 wheels of cheese, each weighing 45 kg, undergoing maturation, it's a sight to behold.
You can also explore the beautiful villages of the Jura and enjoy the shops in Les Rousses, for example.
-En haute Savoie
Visit Annecy, its lake, and its charming old town, just 1 hour and 10 minutes from the apartments, with its magnificent Christmas market in December.
-En Suisse
Why not explore Geneva, a historic and cultural city that is sure to surprise you as you wander through the old town or along its quays, where you can admire the water jet with Mont Blanc in the background?
Another gem in the region is the village of Gruyère, an ancient medieval town. We recommend trying a moitié-moitié fondue, and on the way you can discover Lausanne or Montreux, two beautiful towns on Lake Geneva.
-Discover Alpine skiing and cross-country skiing
We recommend the International Ski School for beginners to cross-country skiing, or for their large kindergarten. You can also start with the red instructors from the ESF. Both schools are located at the foot of the residence.
-Go snowshoeing with a mid-mountain guide
Set off to explore the Jura Mountains on trails far from the crowds in complete safety thanks to mountain guides. Two guides are available to advise you: Matthieu Gevertz and Rose May Albout.
